Song! Challenge! #4: By The Numbers

This week's Song! Challenge! tests your familiarity with music containing numbers and number-related words.

The quiz below is only 3 minutes and 12 seconds long, but it contains clips from 31 songs -- each song either has a number (or number-related word, such as "thrice" or "thirty-seventh") in its title or in the name of the band/artist who performs it. So, like: "21 Jump Street," for example, or "The Dave Clark Five." Got it?

In this week's quiz, there are lots of lyrics, so it might be easier to do some Googling for help. But I expect several of the songs this week will be potential stumpers. I think #2, #8, #9, #21, #24, and #26 will be the toughest, but your mileage may vary.

The Rules (Upping the Stickler Quotient)

Your job is to enter your song guesses for all 31 songs (artist AND title) as a single comment here on the blog. While the standard rules apply (Judge's decision final, have fun, if it's a TV theme song, only the show title is required, blah blah blah... And if you have an iPhone, don't iCheat by iUsing Shazam, please. UPDATED TO ADD: Songs from Broadway shows may be listed either as "Title, Name of Broadway Show" or "Title, Actual Artist Singing That Version."), I will be responding to feedback from some of you regarding my leniency as a judge. For this week's Song! Challenge!, I'll be requiring exact spelling (numbers where there should be numbers, numbers spelled out as words where there should be numbers spelled out as words, etc.) and exact matches on titles and artists. Assume you are going to be judged swiftly and harshly this week, for indeed you shall be.

You may enter as often as you like -- but each comment/entry will be counted independent of your other entries; so if you get a question right in one entry but wrong in another, it only counts as correct in the one you got it right in. (Got that?) If you're reading this on Facebook, go to the blog: http://sssemester.blogspot.com to hear the quiz and enter your comment/entry.

The Grand Prize
The first person to get all 31 song titles and artists correct in a single entry -- or the person with the most song titles and artists correct by 7:00PM EDT ON TUESDAY, JUNE 23 -- will win a very special prize: a $5 Fazoli's gift card AND you get to choose any song from the 31 clips included in this contest, and I will make a video of some sort out of it -- depending on the song, it'll be either me performing it or maybe an old-school music video (remember those?) to the song.

(Almost) Everybody "Wins"
In the grand tradition of a participant prize for all, anyone who gets at least five songs correct in this Song! Challenge! and leaves their e-mail in their comment or sends me their e-mail directly (SSSemester [at] yahoo [dot] com) after putting their official entry in the comments WILL RECEIVE A SPECIAL, SUPERSECRET LINK to the SSSemester-made video of the song chosen by the winner.

One Last Thing
There are a couple of PG-13 lyrics in this week's Song! Challenge!, so if you're under 13 (which, why would you be playing this if you were, but if you ARE), get a parent's permission before you play.

Readysetgo by clicking the player below:

Again, if you're on Facebook, you'll want to click over to http://sssemester.blogspot.com to play!
