Song! Challenge! #7: Wuv, Twue Wuv

If you played last week's Song! Challenge!, you are aware that it was really, really, really hard.

This week's is nowhere near as difficult, so you'd better enter quickly.

This time around, you get 24 song clips, each contaning a form of the word "love." Your task is to name all 24 songs in this week's Challenge! Some extra information for this week's game:
  • The grand dame of sappy love songs, the chanteuse Quebecoise, Celine Dion herself, appears twice in this Song! Challenge!
  • This Challenge! is heavier on the country music than previous Challenge!s, as many of you surprised me with the ease with which you identified Alan Jackson last week.
  • Because lots of people write musicals about love, there are a good number of songs from Broadway shows. In those cases, you need only supply the name of the song and the show it appears in, not necessarily the particular singer.

The Rules (Downing the Stickler Quotient, maintaining my general slackerly leniency)

Your job is to enter your song guesses for all 24 songs (artist AND title, IN ORDER) as a single comment here on the blog. Standard rules apply (Judge's decision final, have fun, if it's a TV theme song -- and there are 2 this week -- we just need the name of the show, blah blah blah). Again, I'll be counting minor misspellings and other tiny inaccuracies as correct, as long as you're mostly right.

You may enter as often as you like -- but each comment/entry will be counted independent of your other entries; so if you get a question right in one entry but wrong in another, it only counts as correct in the one you got it right in. (Got that?) If you're reading this on Facebook, go to the blog: http://sssemester.blogspot.com to hear the quiz and enter your comment/entry.

The Grand Prize

The first person to get all 24 song titles and artists correct in a single entry -- or the person with the most song titles and artists correct by 7:00PM EDT ON TUESDAY, JULY 14 -- will win a very special prize: a $10 Restaurants.com gift certificate, courtesy of Chris Theisen of B Creative Images. Because this is such a great prize, and because I'm superbehind on the previous videoizing requests from previous winners, the Scott'll-make-a-video-of-your-song-choice component is on hiatus. It adds a few extra days in the video production process, so I'm working out the kinks. But watch for it to make a return soon! And in the meantime, I'm working on a video of my own that I think you'll enjoy.)

PRIZE NOTE: If you or your business would like to sponsor the Song! Challenge! prize package like Chris and B Creative Images did, please let me know by e-mailing SSSemester[at]yahoo[dot]com.

(Almost) Everybody "Wins"

In the grand tradition of a participant prize for all (and in acknowledgment of the fact that this one is pretty easy), anyone who ENTERS IN THE COMMENTS and gets at least eight songs correct in this Song! Challenge! and leaves their e-mail in their comment or sends me their e-mail address directly (SSSemester [at]yahoo[dot]com) after putting their official entry in the comments WILL RECEIVE A SPECIAL, SUPERSECRET LINK to the SSSemester-made video of the song chosen by me. It's one of the songs in this week's Challenge!, so I can't tell you the title, but I think you'll like it.

PS - If you're playing the Song! Challenge! before Monday, 7/13, at 11:59pm, you can click here for a special Restaurants.com 70% off offer, also courtesy of Chris Theisen. Get $25 gift certificates at some of your favorite restaurants -- normally $10 at Restaurants.com -- for only $3! (Use the code SEVENTY at checkout.)

PPS - Just FYI: I'm going to a friend's lake house today and we're coming back tomorrow, so no comments will be approved (meaning, no entries will be posted) until Sunday evening. You don't need to repost. Thanks!
