Song! Challenge! #12: I'm Sorry, Could You Repeat That?

So, now that you've participated in one, are you actually glad the Song! Challenge! is back? Hmmm...

This week's game is, I think, slightly harder than normal. I'm going to give it a Degree of Difficulty of 8.4. How many of the clips can you identify?

This week, the Challenge! is tailor-made for the hard of hearing. Each clip contains a word or phrase repeated one or more times. Each clip contains a word or phrase repeated one or more times. (Bwahaha!)

Your task is to identify all 20 clips -- SONG AND ARTIST -- in this week's Challenge!. Some extra information for this week's game:
  • There is one TV theme song. (Of course.)
  • If you get all 20, I will be amazed. I believe a perfect score on this week's Challenge! to be impossible, unless you are me, which you are probably not.
  • Clip #3 is NOT "Jingle Bells."
  • In response to feedback from last year's Challenge!s, I have added identifying numbers before each clip, to make it easier to figure out which song you're on. Sadly, I didn't save the master "numbering" file from last week, and I had to re-record the numbers at the unreasonably loud Panera. Therefore, the numbers are kind of lame. But you're a big boy and/or girl, so I'm sure it will be just fine.
  • Some of the songs in this week's Challenge! have appeared in previous Challenge!s.
  • Each clip will be worth 2 points, and I will award partial credit. If you get the song title but not the artist or the artist but not the title, I will give you 1 point. Get both the song AND the artist and get 2 points.
  • We're going to try another experiment this week, and I'm not going to post any entries until after the 7pm deadline. We'll see how well everyone can do when they don't have anyone's paper to peek off of.

The Rules

Your job is to enter your song guesses for all 20 clips (SONG TITLE AND ARTIST THIS WEEK) as a single comment here on the blog. In the case of a song from a movie or musical, you may provide either the artist who sang it or the movie/musical it appeared in. In the case of the one TV show, just put "Theme from ____." Standard rules apply (Judge's decision final, have fun, blah blah blah). Again, I'll be counting minor misspellings and other tiny inaccuracies as correct, as long as you're mostly right.

You can submit your comment-entry starting at 7:00pm EDT tonight, but I won't be approving any comments until after the Tuesday evening deadline. No help from other entries this time around. The deadline for all entries is Tuesday evening at 7:00pm EDT.

You may enter as often as you like -- but each comment/entry will be counted independent of your other entries; so if you get a question right in one entry but wrong in another, it only counts as correct in the one you got it right in. (Got that?) If you're reading this on Facebook, go to the blog: http://sssemester.blogspot.com to hear the quiz and enter your comment/entry.

The Grand Prize

The first person to get all 20 song titles and artists correct in a single entry -- or the person with the most points by 7:00PM EDT ON TUESDAY, MAY 18 -- will win a $10 Target gift card, sponsored by me, this time around.

If you'd like to participate as a prize sponsor by donating a prize valued at $10 or more, please e-mail me at SSSemester(at)yahoo(dot)com.

(Almost) Everybody "Wins"

This week's (Almost) Everybody "Wins" prize is a limited edition -- edition will be limited to the number of (Almost) Everybody "Wins" winners -- original photograph created by me and mailed or hand-delivered to you. Make sure to leave your e-mail address in the body of your comment/entry so that I can follow up and get you your (Almost) Everybody "Wins" prize. (If you're worried about spambots, use the format "user(at)domain(dot)whatever" like I did above, and we should be fine. Nobody reads this blog anyway -- not even spambots.)

The target number for this week's (Almost) Everybody "Wins" is 15. You'll need to get at least 15 points correct in order to get the (Almost) Everybody "Wins" prize.
